The Aquanauts SCUBA Club owns dive gear, an air compressor, pool toys and other odds and ends which are all available to active club members, free of charge. While not all the gear is state of the art, it does make it possible for poor college students to enjoy some of the fantastic diving in the Keweenaw area.
The club acquired a brand spanking new compressor in the spring of 1998. This little baby pumps out grade E air at 12scfm! The not quite as new motor driving it is 50% oversized.
The
three 4500psi and three 3500psi cascade bottles provide ample storage for
compressed air. We have three air whips for SCUBA tanks and our Compressor
Operators can fill both yoke and DIN styles.
A
variety of exposure gear is available, some new, some not. We can outfit a adult
male and female divers ranging from size small to extra large with a 6mm wetsuit
and accessories. The club does not have any dry suits, but we would be happy to
share the hot water in the suit before diving secret with you!
The
club owns several sets of regulators, a few sets are Sherwood Blizzards with dry
suit inflators for those of us lucky enough to own one. Other specialized
equipment include dive lights and housing for one-time use cameras.
